Caroline Fruth is the Youth Program Director for Ethos of Mariposa.
Born in Sonora, raised in Don Pedro, lives in Mariposa. Wynter is what you call a classic “local”. He graduated from Mariposa County High School in 2011. Right after, he attended Merced College and graduated 2015 with degrees in History, Philosophy, and Behavioral Science. He joined the Ethos Team in 2016 and one of his first projects was the creation of the successful podcast WyseCast.
If you see Wynter at Ethos you’ll probably see a giant man wearing a Hawaiian shirt, on his laptop, and looking at memes with the young people. He might even be reading a book but he’ll tell you that the youth won’t give him time to read.
I’m Katelyn Strickland. I grew up in San Jose, the silicon valley, in the suburbs. I moved to Mariposa my freshman year of high school and couldn’t wait to get out of town. I got a B.A. in psychology at UC Merced, and promptly returned to Mariposa to be close to family and serve my community. I used to curse the trees and long for tall city buildings, but after a long 4 years at university I realized my love for nature, and my desire to give back to the small town of Mariposa. I’ve been working with the Alliance since August 2016, and I’ve been at Ethos since December 2016. It’s been a dream come true to work for a local non-profit and be able to make a difference in the lives of teens.
